Active and Authentic Reproduction

Built-in active processing and powerfull loudspeaker system

With the goal to deliver highly accurate and reliably authentic sound experiences, we must fundamentally break the conventions of passive and box loudspeaker design.

State-of-the-art built-in Pascal Class-D power amplifiers drive each speaker unit directly with no passive components in between. Just optimally short wiring providing the robust control required not least for the TCA-M dynamic power demands of the bass system. When fully utilised, the bass system power demand peeks at 1000 Watts of the available 1500 Watts dynamic power reserves.

Modern Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology and the powerful dynamic low distortion and ultra low noise class-D amplifiers, are important parts of the solution to loudspeaker design challenges. The entire signal chain of the TCA-M loudspeaker from its analog and digital inputs to the integrated acoustic output from the bass, midrange and treble speaker systems, are consistently controlled much closer to an ideal performance than previously possible.

TCA-M is an elegant powered and unparalleled active loudspeaker requiring a minimum of external components and cabling.

Yet completely flexible with your own choice of analog or digital pre-amplifier for music playback of vinyl or TAPE, Streaming or CD formats.

TCA-M will serve as a two channel stereo system, the main speakers of a home theatre installation and as studio monitors over the built-in Dante® LAN connection - authentically and consistently reproducing recorded sound.

Features and Technical Specifications

First we separately measure in anechoic conditions (without room reflections) the response of the bass, midrange and treble systems at a reference position between midrange and tweeter 3 metres on-axis. These measurements accurately captures the behaviour of the full signal path from input to acoustic output before any DSP processing.

Knowing the behavior of the full end-to-end signal chain ensures that the DSP crossover is calculated to achieve an integrated acoustic output that authentically reproduces the original recorded sound with full time coherence and a flat frequency response from 16Hz to 24KHz.

Our crossover topology draws advantage of our patented acoustic platform to achieve a uniform three-dimensional sound dispersion pattern without artifacts attracting subconscious attention to the location of the loudspeakers.

DSP technology cannot overcome fundamental physical and acoustic design limitation of a loudspeaker, but modern technology is key to the authentic sound of the far from conventional but close to perfect TCA-M design.
