Form Follows Function

Form follows function is an essential principle of Modern Danish furniture design. Rooted in our democratic values, functionalism inspires designers and craftsmen to harness the quality of natural materials for lasting concepts and sustainable products.

Emerged in the 1930s these values have stood the test of time, originally embodied by furniture featured through Danish craft associations and in magazines. Achieving success during the 40s and 50s, Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner and Finn Juhl soared in popularity.

It is nothing short of a sculpture formed to support acoustic function at every bend.

My father, Helge Siig, instilled into me his passion for functionalism. During the late 1950s and into the 60s, as a hobby, he created unique furniture that integrated form and function. To this day, I have fond memories of the desk and chair he gifted to me; I spent most of my time with Lego builds and finishing homework here. Eventually, my legs outgrew the desk, but its functional beauty has not been lost.

Continuing the legacy, I have founded Treble Clef Audio based on the principles of functionalism. Every component of the loudspeaker, TCA-M, is thorough and meaningful. It is nothing short of a sculpture formed to support acoustic function at every bend.
